Both teams lost key elements during the summer break. From now on Valenciennes will have to do without the services of winger Danic, while Toulouse can no longer rely on winger Tabanou.
Both of them were key players, the only difference is that Toulouse have much ore depth, especially when it comes to wingers, as more than decent players like Regatting or Braaten are available and ready for action.
Besides Danic, Valenciennes also lost defensive midfielder Gomis (solid player) and central defender Isimat-Mirin.
The defense will suffer a lot this season. Most probably the will use the couple Rose – Bong in the central defense, two hesitant players with still unproven qualities.
Every time these 2 started a game last season it ended in a massacre for Valenciennes.
Upfront there’s no proper replacement for winger Danic, so all the burden of creating will be upon Dossevi (decent enough) and unsettled Melikson, which has yet to find his his place at Valenciennes.
Like already stated , guests will have to do without Tabanou from now on. They’ve brought in winger Trejo from Gijon, even if they already had proper replacements on that particular position.
Fullback Aurier is suspended for this game, and central defender Zebina is injured.
They still have Abdennour in the central defense, who’s given proper help from the defensive midfielders, so nobody worry because of those 2 defensive absences.
Upfront Toulouse will rely on the two “Bens”: Ben Basat and Ben Yedder. They posses visible qualities, more than enough to open up a fragile defense like Valenciennes have.
Toulouse will be able to resist the crippled pressure that will come from hosts’ side and in the same time create chaos in Valenciennes’ penalty box.
Toulouse +0.25 @ 1.77 mustn’t be missed
