Troyes were really lucky last week away at Metz. Opponents imposed the rhythm, constantly pushed the game forward, but weren’t inspired enough to find the net. Troyes somehow managed to score the winner in the final seconds, on counter, and while playing in 10 (they won 1-0).
Congratulations for the victory, but if they would have been playing against a different team, they wouldn’t have stood a chance.
Troyes will have to do without experienced fullback Deplagne who is suspended. It’s a real shame, because St Etienne are very active down the flanks.
St Etienne were very aggressive last week against Rennes, and it was pretty easy for opponents to catch them off guard. St Etienne bounced back twice, but didn’t have enough power to win all points (finished 2-2).
Forward Diony is yet to score, and unfortunately it seems he is constantly losing form, instead of progressing. As mentioned in previous previews, wingers play the biggest role in St Etienne’s strategy.
Especially Bamba is in excellent form, scored 4 goals so far, and fully enjoys being in the spotlight.
Hosts will miss important midfielders Nivet and Darbion. St Etienne welcome back important winger Hamouma, but will miss midfielders Dabo and Gabriel Silva.
Fullback Deplagne would have been Bamba’s direct opponent this round. It would have been a fair and balanced fight. But now with Deplagne suspended, Bamba has a clear path to goal. ST ETIENNE -0.5 at 2.20
