Troyes – Lyon Preview

troyes lyon preview

TROYES

Last week Troyes blew a good chance to put an end to the bad run (lost 1-0 to Bordeaux). The opponent was difficult only on paper as in the field the reality was different.

Unfortunately Troyes were very nervous, constantly made unnecessary fouls, missed simple passes and rushed when it came to applying the finishing touch.

It is not a coincidence that Troyes are isolated on the last place in Ligue1, as that position fully reflects the way Troyes are performing at the moment.

In the midweek game Troyes scored first away at Lille but were unable to hold the lead and ended up under constant pressure and eliminated from the Cup (lost 2-1 at Lille)

LYON

Many expected Lyon to win last round against Toulouse, but few thought it was going to be a one way game (Lyon won 3-0).

All players involved in the offensive phase were extremely active with Valbuena once again the leader and fullback Jallet also involved in most actions. Lyon finally learned how to deal with Jallet’s offensive appetite and now there is someone constantly covering for him. If by any chance a defender will feel overwhelmed coach Fournier has plenty of options with defenders Bedimo, Rafael and Yanga – Mbiwa on the sidelines

Forward Beauvue also seemed more confident than in previous rounds and managed to deliver two assists.

Although they recently registered alternating results Lyon seem in great form and should be able to build on last week’s success.
