Toulouse PSG Preview

toulouse psg preview

Toulouse were a bit lucky last round away at Reims where they were 1-0 down after only 12 minutes. Toulouse took advantage of Reims’ loose defense and came back into the game in second half, when striker Ben Yedder managed to score a hat trick.

In-spite winning, Toulouse’s overall performance was not that convincing, as they appeared hesitant in defense and not that incisive upfront. Although he scored three goals Ben Yedder was not Toulouse’s best player, as midfielders Akpa-Akpro and Machach once again outdone themselves and impressed through hard efforts.

Ben Yedder also scored in the Cup against Marseille (Toulouse won 2-1 after extra time), when once again Toulouse exploited opponents’ poor moment.

Midfielder Doumbia will return to action after he was suspended last round.

PSG looked a bit bored last week against Bastia, and although they won 2-0 and constantly pushed the game forward, the offensive players seem a bit out-of-form. Ibrahimovic, Di Maria and Lucas couldn’t find the means to open up an opponent who concentrated exclusively on the defensive phase.

Both of PSG’s goals were scored by defensive players (Maxwell and Thiago Motta), but hopefully things will go back to normal this round, after a full week of intensive training sessions.

A couple of reserves were used in the midweek Cup game against Lyon (Stambouli, Marquinhos, Rabiot) but PSG still dominated and qualified further (won 2-1).

There are many rumors regarding PSG making transfer offers, receiving propositions, but until now no official transfer has been made.

PSG’s attacking players may not be in the best form ever, but Toulouse never agglomerate in defense and instead they try to make their game regardless the opponent. This will definitely be a huge advantage for PSG who have the ability to punish every single mistake. PSG -1.25 at 1.98
