Toulouse Nantes Preview

toulouse nantes preview

TOULOUSE

Toulouse’s situation is getting worse by the round. Sooner or later they will need to become more aggressive and focus on the attacking phase, as that will be their only chance of survival.

When 2016 started Toulouse looked like they found the perfect formula. Midfielders Akpa – Akpro and Machach where extremely active and continuously pushed the game forward, while forward Ben Yedder and Braithwaite only needed to be there and apply the finishing touch.

Machach got injured, missed a few rounds and seems to have lost coach’s confidence. But pretty soon, maybe even this round, coach Arribage will be forced to embrace a more offensive strategy, and sacrifice a defensive minded player, if he wants Toulouse to survive in Ligue1.

NANTES

Nantes had no problems last round against Gazelec Ajaccio (won 3-1). When this season began Nantes’ biggest problem was creating scoring opportunities. Now they have solved that issue, but the defensive phase is giving them headaches.

They are making many defensive mistakes, some even unforced, against all opponents, without exception. Last round they conceded only because keeper Riou and a defender bumped into each-other, and let the ball pass through. There were many other errors and Nantes were lucky to escape with only 1 goal conceded.

But all is good when attacking players are in top form and they can outscore opponents.

BETTING

On home ground Toulouse usually try to take initiative and open up without thinking twice. Especially now they need to be more aggressive and start getting positive results. It will be a miracle if Nantes will manage to keep a clean sheet, considering all the defensive mistakes they are making. On the other hand they can always score at least once. Excellent price for an open game. over 2.25 goals at 2.11

UPDATE: Toulouse will miss forward Braithwaite. Nantes will have to do without forward Sightorsson. Same bet
