Toulouse Guingamp Preview

toulouse guingamp preview

TOULOUSE

Surprisingly poor performance from Toulouse last week away at Monaco (lost 4-0). It was a one sided encounter from the first whistle and Toulouse could barely create a couple of real scoring chances.

Toulouse had a nightmarish schedule this month, with 3 games against PSG and 1 against Monaco. When the season resumed Toulouse looked a bit more confident and determined, but the series of negative results and constant domination by opponents surely affected the morale.

Toulouse will welcome back important midfielder Akpa – Akpro after he was suspended in the Cup.

GUINGAMP

Guingamp won 3 points last round but it surely felt like 10. They constantly pushed the game forward but opponents were very compact and Guingamp struggled to get inside the penalty box. It was very frustrating, as it was obvious that Guingamp is the better side.

The winner came in extra time, from penalty, and Guingamp celebrated like they had won the title.

Newly arrived forward Erding was in the lineup alongside Briand, but unfortunately couldn’t achieve much and was substituted in second half. Guingamp still have plenty of offensive power even without Erding in good form. Briand is a highly skilled and experienced player, and proved to be a great servant both for wingers and for forward Privat as well.

Guests will miss midfielder Sankhare and fullback Pereira, both of them suspended

BETTING

Toulouse are certainly more aggressive than in the first part of the season, but they need to get their confidence back (after being pushed around by PSG and Monaco) before we can trust them.
