Toulouse Caen Preview

toulouse caen preview

TOULOUSE

Toulouse changed coach recently but there are no real improvements in their playing style. Maybe some players are a bit more aggressive trying to impress the new coach and earn a place in the lineup, but when it comes to tactics Toulouse look exactly the same.

It is almost impossible for Toulouse to save the season, as they don’t appear capable of starting a series of positive results. They aren’t constant in performances and every single improvement in defense / offense comes at the expense of the other departments.

Hosts will welcome back young midfielders Blin and Machach after suspension, and at least one of them should be in the lineup.

CAEN

Caen still believe they can qualify for a place in Europe for next season, and their belief is fully justified seeing they have enough resources to be competitive at this level.

They had a couple of poor performances in 2016, but successfully bounced back recently, and last round important players Delort and Rodelin once again appeared to be in top form and confidence (Rodelin even scored).

Caen are very organized and afford to defend in numbers. They are accustomed with defensive tactics and don’t need many players for the attacking phase.

Good news for Caen as they will welcome a couple of important players. Defender Imorou, midfielders Delaplace and Diomande, and wingers Ntibazonkiza and Bessat will all return after injury.

BETTING

Toulouse don’t have any options, they need to attack from the first minutes and assure the three points. Caen will be perfectly happy with approach, as they will have many open spaces and will surely exploit every single mistake. CAEN +0.5 at 1.89

UPDATE: Hosts will miss midfielders Somalia (injured) and Machach who received another week of suspension from the Discipline Commission. It seems the game came a bit too soon for Caen’s players Ntibazonkiza, Imorou and Bessat, and they will once again sit out.

Caen: Vercoutre, Reulet – Appiah, Yahia, Da Silva, Ben Youssef, Raineau – Adéoti, Diomandé, Seube, Delaplace, Leborgne, Féret, Nkololo – Kouakou, Rodelin, Bazile, Delort
