TOULOUSE

Toulouse made a decent game last round away Marseille and deserved to win a point (finished 0-0). In-spite the goalless draw, Toulouse never refused to open up and attack, and coach Dupraz even made an offensive change with around half an hour to go (forward Toivonen substituted defensive midfielder Bodiger).

This season Toulouse will struggle to replace top scorer Ben Yedder who transferred-out, but at least coach Dupraz is willing to speed up things by adopting offensive strategies, even in difficult games away at reputed opponents.

In the defensive phase Toulouse looked very vulnerable, both on the flanks and in the center. They were a bit lucky not to concede, and young keeper Lafont was the man of the match, but mostly because opponents’ shots were very predictable.

BORDEAUX

Impressive performance from Bordeaux last week against St Etienne (won 3-2). Especially from an offensive point of view Bordeaux were clearly superior to their opponents. Forward Menez started only on the bench, and it was clear he is not fully fit yet (had to wear a helmet), but all the other attacking players appeared to be in top form.

Bordeaux’s offensive players are very young and full of energy (at 23 Rolan was the oldest in the lineup last week). They can easily build actions in speed, both through long and short passes. It is almost impossible for a mediocre Ligue 1 side to keep up with them.

If Bordeaux will manage to strengthen the defensive phase, they can be real contenders for a place in Europe. But they need to transfer-in new defenders, as Guilbert and Poundje aren’t very reliable.

Bordeaux should welcome back midfielder Toulalan who was suspended last round.

BETTING

The price on goals is extremely valuable, especially considering that Bordeaux’s attacking players showed increased playing appetite, and Toulouse won’t refuse an open game. over 2.25 goals at 2.04
