It was painful for Toulouse to lose (just love how it sounds) last round in the dying moments after a penalty.
The inefficiency upfront is the main reason for Toulouse’s bad results. The other departments do their job very professionally: the defense resists heroically even with leader Abdennour injured, wingers create lots of chances but everything is lost when forwards enter the scene.
There is however hope as coach Casanova realized what’s going on and tries to find a remedy. The main issue was forward Braithwaite who was constantly failing with easy balls and losing possession. Even if he scored 4 goals so far, the harm done is way bigger. Last round coach Casanova left Braithwaite on the bench and the play had a better flow.
Defender Abdennour is still injured but the good news is that winger Akpa-Akpro will make his comeback. He plays a big role in Toulouse’s tactics and will significantly improve the offensive phase. Attacking midfielder Trejo could also return.
Coach Ravanelli left Ajaccio following the disastrous performance last week. The hypocrisy of Ajaccio’s players is just disgusting. A few rounds ago they were all pledging support to coach Ravanelli and now after he’s gone they say it should have happened sooner.
Rumors circulate on how Ravanelli used to gave his players drugs to enhance their performance, but I think they were on drugs anyway, take Mutu for example…
Ajaccio’s new coach is a former director of the youth academy, Christian Bracconi, with no experience at this level. With a coach lacking basic experience Ajaccio’s game will be more chaotic than ever.
Ajaccio will welcome back forward Eduardo but fullback Crescenzi will miss due to injury.
Toulouse will control this game from the 1st minute. They will apply huge pressure and (with Braithwaite on the bench …) hosts will find the net a couple of times.
Toulouse -1 at the odds of 2.07 is a great and safe bet.
