St Etienne should have been more daring last week away at Nice, and maybe they could have got draw (Nice won 1-0).
Winger Hamouma was once again the most active player, but this time he was a bit selfish, and continued by himself even when teammates where in better positions. It surely was very frustrating for forwards Roux and Saivet to see opportunities being. Hopefully Hamouma learned his lesson and he will have a different approach this round.
Central midfielders constantly participated in the defensive phase, and did their best to close down all spaces.
Hosts welcome back keeper Ruffier and defender Malcuit, but will miss forwards Beric, Soderlund and Tannane (not important players)
Lorient conceded early last round against Toulouse, and had difficulties finding their way back in the game. Eventually they found the equalizer, and by the end of the game they were pushing hard for the winner (finished 1-1).
Lorient are currently in the last place in Ligue1, but to be honest they don’t look like they belong in the relegation zone.
Their football is decent, they are pretty confident in most games, and things should only improve in the future when topscorer Moukandjo will return to action.
Guests will miss forwards Aliadiere, Marveaux and Moukandjo.
Lorient may not look like relegation material, but they also don’t seem capable to stand ground against St Etienne. Hosts’ winger Monnet-Paquet will have a field day against either Moreira of Koffi. Defending the right flank is a major vulnerability for Lorient, and it may decide the outcome of this game. ST ETIENNE -0.75 at 2.06
