Sochaux – Rennes Preview

As expected Sochaux were simply destroyed in the midweek Cup game at Nice. It’s sad watching Sochaux play. Renard must have bought his coaching license from the supermarket or something.

He constantly changes system disorientating an already confused group of players.
Like stated before, Sochaux have great potential on the wings but there is no attempt to exploit that.

Habitual wingers were made bench warmers or moved in other positions and everything went to hell.

Defensively Sochaux is the weakest team in Ligue1, both according to stats (conceded 2.11 goals per game so far) and to what’s going on the field.

There are no reports on the condition of best defender Carlao and most probably he will miss once again, just like defensive midfielder Lopy.

Rennes were a bit unlucky to be eliminated from the Cup (lost 2-1 vs Bordeaux). Rennes were better, had more chances, pushed the game forward but lacked the finishing touch against a team that defended at high standards.

Besides attacking midfielder Kadir, Rennes will only miss central midfielder Konradsen because of injury. Konradsen is usually only a reserve, especially when Pajot is fully fit, and he returned this week from injury.

It will be almost impossible for Sochaux to open up Rennes’ defense who receives constant support from central midfielders.

Any Ligue1 team can score against Sochaux so it should require extra efforts from Rennes. Rennes DNB at the odds of 1.78 is a safe and valuable bet.
