Sochaux are willing to fight until the end in the attempt to salvage this season and escape relegation. With 4 rounds to go only 2 points separate them from Guingamp who are next in the table and safe from relegation.
Away at Reims last round Sochaux made a smart game, gave away a few spaces in defense but overall they were very lucid, determined and constant in efforts.
The play on the flanks once again made the difference, with fullback Faussurier delivering the assist and winger Corchia scoring. If by any chance Sochaux will manage to escape relegation it will be mainly because of the players active on the flanks, fullbacks and wingers.
Striker Jordan Ayew didn’t had many clear chances but he was very lively even without the ball and constantly dragged opponents after him, clearing the path for teammates.
Sochaux will have to do without suspended defender Carlao.
Although PSG dominated last round against Evian it could be clearly seen their willpower is severely reduced and they have no more motivation. They pass the ball in midfield from one player to another but don’t concentrate that hard on opening spaces and don’t even think about running after opponents if the ball is eventually lost.
With the title and the French Cup in the pocket and eliminated from Champions League it is of course normal for PSG to adopt such an attitude. Most likely they will be even more apathetic away from home.
PSG will welcome back central midfielder Motta after suspension.
This should be one of those games in which value and talent will play a secondary role and instead determination will be the most important factor for the final outcome. Sochaux +1 at 2.16
