[pullquote]Odds of 1.55 aren’t that amazing, but Lorient to win should be a safe bet for accumulators.[/pullquote]Lorient are the nice surprise of this period. At the beginning they had a defense that was leaking goals from all over the place but now they kept it tight for 4 rounds. The players are still the same, and even more, some of the regular defenders were out with injuries. Don’t know what coach Gourcuff told them and made them so motivated, but it definitely worked. Collective efforts and solidarity are their major strengths. Their fast paced counter actions can surprise even the best defense in this league. Forward Traore got injured and will miss. Most probably Corgnet will advance taking his role, or if not we will see experienced Giuly over there. Either way, the options are solid. Form and confidence are on hosts’ side for sure. And when we add to that the necessary skills the fate of the game is pretty much decided.
Reims made a good game in front of Lille, but even so we shouldn’t praise them too much as Lille are just a mediocre team nowadays and Reims should have won that game. The biggest problem is with capitalizing on their chances. Even if forward Courtet is back from injury for a few round already, he failed to pick up his old form and now barely touches the ball. Winger Diego transformed from a sensation to a let down and rarely finishes the game in the field, due to shady performances… Not much creation power, and when they do manage to approach the net, there’s no one skilled enough to assume responsibly and finish in style.
