Maybe the best news in hosts’ camp is the availability of the central defensive pair once again: Zebina and Abdennour. They missed a couple of rounds and as a consequence we can see the results, 3 consecutive defeats.
The upfront issues are recurring as Ben Yedder stopped scoring and Riviere…well he’s just not Ligue 1 material. He had so many chances to prove himself but failed regularly. Of course every once in a while he manages to hit the target but that doesn’t make him a reliable player.
In the midfield they will welcome back Tabanou and that will be a big boost as he plays a very important role.
Hosts will be eager to put an end to their shadowy results but their opponent won’t be exactly an easy one.
Lyon’s title ambitions are very justified this season. Even if many important players left the squad, there’s a lot of quality in all departments. The defense may be their major weakness but they still have solid defensive midfielders always ready to cover, like Gonalons for example.
For many rounds already they aren’t able to count on wingers Bastos and Briand, as they are both injured. Fullback Reveillere is suspended and most probably we will see Monzon replacing him, a more than decent solution.
Central defender Bisevac is doubtful and that may be a problem as the possible solutions aren’t so reliable. It will be either Umtiti or Kone and both of them are prone to errors.
Upfront Lisandro is also doubtful, but recently he hasn’t been himself. He seemed to impatient and angry, so maybe a small break will do him good.
It will be hard, if not impossible, for Toulouse, even if they welcome back important players, to take all the points out of this game. Form, confidence and quality will definitely work against them…
