Rijeka – Lyon Preview - Ligue 1 Betting Tips

Rijeka – Lyon Preview

Rijeka could have got more in France, they only needed to be a bit more courageous and not have so much respect for the opponent.

Unfortunately they never realized that and most probably this game will be played after a similar scenario.

Lyon played that game with an improvised defense due to many injuries, but now almost the entire defense is fit and will play. Coach Garde will surely use all the big guns trying to build on the good momentum. Bedimo – Umtiti – Bisevac – Dabo are expected to start in the defense once again.

If Rijeka had problems in the 1st game in getting close to Lyon’s penalty box, now it’s going to be twice as hard.

There are however some bad news for Lyon as keeper Lopes got injured and will miss. Replacing him is debutant Gorgelin whose abilities are still a mystery. Another unfortunate injury for Lyon is that of defensive midfielder Gonalons. It’s a good thing that Fofana came under heavy fire in the past weeks due to his childish mistakes, as last round he was more focused and efficient than ever. Hoping for the same performance against Rijeka.

Upfront with the likes of Gomis or Lacazette Lyon is not impressive at all. In fact is really annoying, especially if you have a bet on them and see Gomis always being too superficial and Lacazette lacking skills.

Attacking midfielder Gourcuff is fully fit and may feature. Last week he played with the 2nd team as coach Garde considered he still needed some practice.

If by any chance Lyon will manage to score they won’t push further and will kill the game, just like in the previous encounter or in the league game against Guingamp.

Rijeka appeared to be a very organized team but with few ambitions upfront. Considering Lyon will have all 4 regular defenders, Croatians will have a hard time creating chances.

Odds on Lyon are way too low for a bet on them especially since they always disappoint offensively. Instead under 2.5 goals at 1.78 should be a safe and profitable bet.
