Reims conceded 2 goals very early last round against Ajaccio and struggled for 80 minutes to get back in the game, but they were not very inspired and all their efforts proved to be in vain in-spite constantly trying to push the game forward.
It can be easily seen that players are exhausted and wish for nothing more than the season to be officially over. There are a couple of players that started most games this season and they can barely lift their legs nowadays.
Fans may wish to see a last impressive performance this season but there is a big probability that players won’t be up for it.
Reims will have to do without striker De Preville who is suspended.
The game between Rennes and Sochaux last round was very balanced but in the end motivation proved to be the most important factor (Sochaux won 2-1).
Rennes were not spectators, they created a few chances, applied some moderate pressure, tried to keep it tight at the back, but in the end not having anything to fight for was too demoralizing and added iron in their legs.
Wingers were once again the ones most active with young Ntep even managing to score.
Both sides seem to be worn out and in lack of ideas. The game will be played mostly in midfield and a big percent of all passes will be towards teammates behind. Most likely spectators at the stadium will regret not going for other forms of entertainment…
