Reims Rennes Preview

reims rennes preview

Things are getting pretty serious for Reims as they are now sitting on 6 consecutive defeats. One would think that after these disastrous results at least they’d be more determined and make twice the efforts, but on the contrary, players are very relaxed and walk around the pitch like it’s a boulevard.

The defense seems to be a total wreck and they have conceded 8 goals in the last 3 rounds. Central midfielders are forced to take part in the attacking phase and defenders are left all alone to face the incoming danger.

Although they sometimes use many players in the attacking phase, Reims struggle to get inside opponents’ penalty box and it’s easier for them to rely on long balls thrown inside the box.

Reims should welcome back central midfielder Oniangue.

Rennes were very unlucky last round against Bordeaux. Both sides had their share of chances, but missing a penalty in the final moments was a real let down for Rennes’ fans and backers (finished 2-2).

Rennes seemed a bit more careless than usual in the defensive phase and opponents reached the penalty box with relative ease, as the opposition from Rennes’ central midfielders almost didn’t exist.

Winger Ntep returned from injury, made a good game, delivered an assist, and surely performances will improve once he picks up a rythm.

Winger Grosicki played about 20 minutes but had a huge impact, scored a goal and created many other opportunities for Rennes. His good form will definitely be of help in future rounds.

Form and value favor Rennes and the price on them is really great considering how hosts have been performing as of late. Rennes -0.25 at 2.19

UPDATE: Rennes will have to do without key winger Ntep. Same bet
