From an offensive point of view Reims had a good performance last round away at Montpellier (lost 3-1).
At one point Reims were creating opportunities like it was a training session but unfortunately they only found the net once. Forward Charbonnier is too precipitated and never thinks before making a shot. Because of this he is very predictable and keepers don’t have too much difficulties in stopping his shots.
Defensively Reims were poor and there were many individual errors. Defenders seem slow and have low levels of intuition.
The defensive potential will be reduced this round since Reims will be missing fullback Signorino and defensive midfielder Bourillon (both of them suspended).
Monaco are coming after a difficult midweek Champions League game against Arsenal. Even if they lost 2-0 Monaco still qualified for the next stage because of away goals. Monaco gave everything they had as the game was intensely played until the final whistle.
Reaching the quarter finals of Champions League is a real achievement for Monaco considering that two season ago they were playing in Ligue2.
At the moment Monaco sit on the 4th position in Ligue1 but they will surely be pushing hard until the end of the season to get a new Champions League ticket for next season.
Guests will miss defender Wallace who is suspended but Carvalho can take his place.
Monaco are in good form at the moment and have an excellent morale. They can definitely take advantage of Reims’ fragile defense. The only problem is that after such a performance (qualifying for the quarters of Champions League) Monaco may reduce the rythm in Ligue1 a bit. This game is a better candidate for live betting instead of a pre game bet.
UPDATE: Monaco will miss keeper Subasic and striker Berbatov.
