This is simply a match made in heaven. Last round both sides were leading 1-0 at one point but ended up losing 3-2.
It was sought Reims will have an easy game last round against Guingamp and when they opened the score after 5 minutes nobody believed Guingamp can take something from that encounter.
But Reims got superficial, reduced intensity and by the time they realized this attitude is destructive they were 3-2 down and up against an opponent defending with all forces.
Winger Moukandjo once again started only on the bench but this time he was not that inspired and couldn’t help Reims win any points. On the other hand left winger Diego was very active, took part in many actions and delivered the assist for both of Reims’ goals.
Moukandho suffered an injury and is doubtful for this game, but hosts should welcome back forward De Preville after injury.
Evian made a great 1st half last round against Lyon and they were leading 1-0 at the break. Opponent’s pressure intensified in 2nd half, Evian got tired, lost concentration and conceded twice with 10 minutes to go (Lyon won 3-2).
Evian’s best player, play-maker Wass was out injured and at the moment there are no news regarding his situation so he is once again considered doubtful.
After last round it can be said that both sides are quite low on confidence. Even if Reims seem to have more resources available for getting a good result, Evian is a well organized team and surprised many times recently. Bookmakers make Reims huge favorites but definitely it won’t be that easy as the odds suggest.
UPDATE: Reims will have to do without midfielder Devaux who suffered an injury but the good news is that Moukandjo fully recovered. Good news for Evian as they welcome back play-maker Wass.
