Dreadful display from PSG in last rounds. They still control games and dominate all opponents, but when it comes delivering assists PSG now belong somewhere at the bottom of Ligue1…
It may sound a bit harsh, but PSG’s level of creativity nowadays is close to 0. The fact that Cavani is out injured certainly doesn’t help. This should be quite worrying for the Qatari sponsors, especially with the Champions League game at Leverkusen approaching fast.
Last week against Monaco they could only score following a corner in the first minutes, and looked pretty happy not to have any other major opportunities for the rest of the game…
Other causes of concern are the minor injuries of Thiago Silva and Ibrahimovic. They can play on Friday but there’s the risk of aggravating their situations ahead of the Champions League game with Leverkusen. In these conditions there’s a big probability that both Silva and Ibrahimovic will be only on the bench.
Silva out means that young Marquinhos will play. Most of you regularly reading this website know already my opinion on Marquinhos: unreliable player, prone of making mistakes.
Without Ibrahimovic PSG is simply no force.
Valenciennes made an excellent game last round against Nice (won 2-1). They dominated the entire game. Coach Jacobs changes the system from round to round according to opponent, but keeps the same players in the lineup. This way players adapt instantly as chemistry levels are at maximum.
Strike Pujol started last round after being only a substitute for long time. He is a key player, team leader, but had some serious problems (suffered a lung related illness that prevented him from making big efforts) which seems to be fully over now.
Regulars Masuaku and Mater suffered small knock but there are no worries regarding their presence on Friday.
Valenciennes picked up confidence at the right time and this can allow them to exploit PSG’s lack of creativity, regardless if PSG will start with Silva and Ibrahimovic or not.
Only a crazy bettor would take PSG to win, especially at those laughable odds. Valenciennes +2 (with money back if they lose by 2 goals) at 1.95 is both valuable and safe. Medium confidence. Most probably this price will drop till Friday so I suggest you hurry.
