Although they won at a minimum advantage the Parisians didn’t struggle too much last round away at Rennes (finished 1-0). It was a one way game with PSG in charge since the first whistle. Coach Blanc afforded to rest star striker Ibrahimovic for the midweek Champions League encounter against Real Madrid.
As expected the away game at Real Madrid was very difficult, and even if at times PSG dominated, they have failed to find the net (lost 1-0).
Getting back to Ligue1 there is no real opposition for PSG, regardless they are playing at home or away. Only unfavorable circumstances and boredom can make PSG lose points in Ligue1.
PSG will have to do without midfielder Verratti who suffered an injury.
Last week Toulouse split points with Montpellier after a really poor game played mostly in midfield (finished 1-1). The good news is that Toulouse conceded only once, after five consecutive games in which they conceded 2 or 3 goals per game. But unfortunately there isn’t any real improvement, and only opponents’ soft attacking line is to be thanked for Toulouse’s defensive “performance”.
19 years old Machach scored his first Ligue1 goal last week and most probably we will see more of him from now on. Even if they aren’t winning any games at least they try to grow players and increase their market value…
It will be interesting to see how Toulouse will approach this game, since they never agglomerated in defense in away games and conceded at least once in all of them.
One way traffic to be expected with plenty of space for hosts since Toulosue aren’t accustomed with ultra defensive tactics. PSG -2 at 2.16
UPDATE: PSG will be without Marquinhos, Verratti and Pastore, all of them injured. Toulouse welcome back defender Yago.
