In-spite only drawing 1-1 PSG looked really good in the midweek Champions League game against Chelsea.
The only problem is they do not show the same determination in Ligue1 games. It seems they treat the internal competition much more superficially, especially in this period when they are fully focused on Champions League.
Since Thiago Motta and Cabaye were out injured coach Blanc didn’t want to assume any risks by using young Rabiot and converted David Luiz to a defensive midfielder. David Luiz won’t continue for sure in that position (or any other position) since he is suspended for this game, same as Verratti and Lucas.
Motta could return after injury but most likely he won’t play the entire game.
Toulouse deserved to take all points last round against Rennes after they moderately dominated the entire encounter (won 2-1). Due to forward’s Ben Yedder poor form coach Casanova was forced to change the starting formula again. Ben Yedder was left on the bench, Braithwate was moved upfront next to Pesic and Regattin started on the left side.
Regattin made a good game, was very active and also participated in the defensive phase. It is not yet clear if Toulouse will start in the same formula but there is no reason to worry if they do.
Guests will have to do without fullback Tisserand and midfielder Doumbia. Even if both of them are regulars they are by no means key players. Aguilar and Didot will partner in central midfield and Ninkov can successfully replace Tisserand on the right flank.
Although it may not seem this way these are rough times for PSG. They are getting booed by own fans, the 1-1 draw against Chelsea on home ground was not exactly a good result and also miss a couple of important players. Adding to that the superficial attitude in Ligue1 and Toulouse have a good chance of making a surprise (just like Caen did last round…). Toulouse +1.5 at 2.05
