PSG MONTPELLIER PREVIEW BY LGF

PSG

Last round PSG suffered their first Ligue1 defeat this season after a weird game away at Lyon (Lyon won 2-1). Opponents scored very early and PSG had major difficulties in pushing the game forward, even if they used the best possible team, and Lyon had a few key absences.

PSG seemed out of gas, but maybe they are just trying to preserve energy, seeing the Champions League game against Chelsea is just around the corner.

In the midweek Cup game against St Etienne things went back to normal and they won 3-1 without emotion.

Verratti and Di Maria missed the midweek Cup game and most probably will sit out again this round. Midfielder Matuidi suffered an injury in the Cup game and will sit out.

MONTPELLIER

Really impressive performance from Montpellier last week away at Lille. (Montpellier won 3-0). They were very confident both when going upfront and also when defending.

Playmaker Boudebouz was all over the place, created a couple of opportunities on his own and also delivered many key passes.

Montpellier’s biggest problem this season was the inefficiency in the offensive phase. But this is a good moment for them, as they scored 6 goals in the last two rounds, and absolutely all players doing the offensive phase achieved full potential.

Good news for Montpellier as they welcome back important midfielder Sanson after a long injury. Midfielder Saihi is doubtful and may sit out.

BETTING

Although Montpellier are in a good form at the moment and can deal with most Ligue1 sides, against PSG it will be an entire different story. The situation is a bit delicate for PSG now, seeing the crucial game against Cheslea is very close, and there’s no way of knowing how PSG will approach this game. They may be more fired up than ever, or they may simply wait for time to pass.

UPDATE: Montpellier’s midfielder Sanson is not yet fully fit, so he will miss this round as well
