PSG – Monaco Preview #LeCashico

Le Cashico…

PSG have defended heroically against Barcelona in Champions League and besides winning 3-2 the good news is the definite improvement of their playing style. Even if Barcelona scored two goals and clearly outplayed them in terms of possession, PSG appeared more organized and more determined than in most games this season.

The soft attitude and the lack of willpower was the reason for so many draws this season. Hopefully they learned a few things from the game against Barcelona and will continue with the same approach in Ligue1 as well. If not in the distant future, at least this round against Monaco who are supposed to be some-kind of rivals. If PSG are constant in aggressiveness for the entire 90 minutes they have the potential of destroying absolutely all Ligue1 sides.

Ibrahimovic is doubtful but by now we have proof PSG are a super team even without him. Central defender Marquinhos suffered an injury and there’s a question mark regarding his presence.

Ever-since this season started Monaco couldn’t score more than 1 goal in a game. The offensive power slowly diminished and now they failed to find the net in the last two games.

If defensively Monaco are at an above average level with precise and well timed tackles, upfront they look weaker as round goes by.

Midfielders Silva and Carrasco isolate themselves on the flanks and wait for miracles that never happen. If by some chance the ball reaches one of them, the construction phase is slowed down and most of the passes are at the back. This went on for a couple of weeks but coach Jardim insisted and placed them in the lineup. Only against Zenit in the midweek they were left on the bench.

Monaco could suffer even more in the attacking department seeing that striker Berbatov suffered an injury and is highly doubtful.

The defensive strength will also be reduced as important defensive midfielder Toulalan is suspended.

PSG should once again be extra motivated as they play against some sort of title rivals. PSG can comfortably win Le Cashico seeing that Monaco are nothing special this season and also have some problems with absences. PSG -1.25 at 2.14

UPDATE: PSG will also miss central defender Marquinhos meaning that Camara will have to start in central defense. Same bet
