PSG are definitely in crisis, no matter how many times coach Emery says otherwise. The look on president Al-Khelaifi face after the defeat last round said everything (lost 2-1 at Guingamp).
Although they kept way more possession than opponents, PSG seemed clueless last week away at Guingamp. Cavani was always in offside and Di Maria was easily dispossessed. Verratti was maybe the most creative player on the field, but dribbling opponents inside own penalty box was never a good idea.
In the last 5 games (Champions League and Cup included) PSG have conceded exactly 2 goals per game. Morale is at low levels, and it will really surprising if they will manage to keep a clean sheet this round.
Hosts will miss midfielders Rabiot and Pastore, and forwards Ben Arfa and Di Maria.
Lorient had an easy game last week against St Etienne. Opponents got a red card early in the game, and Lorient were under no pressure. They mildly dominated the entire game, and the winner was never in question (won 2-1 in the end).
At the moment, Lorient’s attacking players seem unstoppable. They are very confident, and are scoring at least 2 goals per game lately.
Good news for Lorient as they welcome back important forward Waris.
PSG may be extra determined trying to finish 2016 on a positive note. Most probably central midfielders Verratti, Motta and Matuidi will focus efforts on the attacking phase, just like fullbacks. Lorient are in excellent attacking form and should be able to find the net, at least once. LORIENT TO SCORE at 1.96
