PSG Lorient Preview

psg lorient preview

PSG

PSG had a somewhat difficult game last week away at St Etienne. Although they won 2-0 opponents had their share of chances and even cornered PSG a couple of times.

Both regular central defenders David Luiz and Thiago Silva are out injured, so coach Bland had to improvise. 20 years old Kimpembe started in central defense next to Marquinhos. Kimpembe was very hesitant and even made a few risky fouls, as it was the only way for him to stop opponents. PSG escaped with a clean sheet but there are no guarantees for future rounds.

On home ground PSG are usually more pushy and even midfielders take part in the offensive phase, regardless the opponent.

Most probably PSG will once again miss defenders Luiz, Silva and Van der Wiel.

LORIENT

Lorient had an easy game last week against Reims (won 2-0). Both forwards Waris and Moukandjo were finally available and started in the lineup. Neither of them scored, but at least they picked up some rythm ahead of the game against PSG.

Winger Jouffre is in excellent form and keeps on scoring and delivering assist (made two assists last round). With Jouffre in good form and Moukandjo and Waris available, Lorient can score against any Ligue1 side, PSG included, especially when they miss David Luiz and Thiago Silva.

BETTING

PSG are set to break Nantes’ 20-year-old record of unbeaten run in Ligue1. Nobody says they won’t break the record, but there are good chances that PSG won’t be able to keep a clean sheet. They played 5 home games so far in 2016 and conceded in 3 of them. Now the chances for them to concede are higher than in previous games. Lorient to score at 2.20

UPDATE: Bad news for out bet as PSG welcome back defenders David Luiz and Thiago Silva. Lorient can still find the net, same bet
