PSG – Lens Preview

Except fullback Maxwell and keeper Sirigu PSG used the best team possible in the midweek Cup game against Monaco (won 2-0). Striker Ibrahimovic also missed but he was forced out due to suspension.

PSG created the best of opportunities and in the same time kept it tight at the back. With Chelsea in their minds PSG also succeeded in preserving energy and in these conditions the 2-0 victory is even more praiseworthy.

Coach Blanc may rotate a bit seeing that a game against Lens is less important than a Champions League encounter with Chelsea. We may see players like Bahebeck and Digne in the lineup but this is no reason to worry as they are highly skilled and by now they also accumulated enough experience.

Lens were a bit unlucky to lose last round against Rennes (finished 1-0). Opponents scored in the first half and concentrated entirely on defending afterwards. Lens created a few important chances but the excellent form of keeper Costil prevented them from finding the equalizer.

Since the season resume Lens are having a disastrous run and they are yet to win in Ligue1 in 2015.

Lens are in for some huge troubles away at PSG, not only because of their bad form and the difference in value, but also because they will be missing a key player, midfielder Valdivia.

PSG will play with Chelsea in mind and won’t make extra efforts, in fact they never make extra efforts and almost always underestimate the opponent. Remains to be seen if without best player Valdivia Lens will be able to mobilize and take advantage of PSG’s mind trips.
