We have all the proof we need that PSG are nothing special without star striker Ibrahimovic.
After being eliminated from Champions League, PSG had huge troubles in the final of the French Cup against a depleted Lyon. Even if they won (2-1) the performance was a bit shameful.
There are no doubts that this season is over for PSG. They hold a comfortable advantage at the top of Ligue1 and their recent results will surely make them softer than usual. Nobody at PSG really cares anymore. On top of that Ibrahimovic is still out injured and central midfielder Motta is suspended.
Some may argument in favor of PSG because of the need to make amends with fans (for Champions League), but the title is already theirs so that should be enough to satisfy them.
Recently Evian looked to be punching above their weight as despite getting results their performances were far from impressive. But last round against Bastia this changed, as Evian managed to make a quick comeback and win 2-1 after being 1-0 down.
With the exception of a bit of indecision in defense the entire team looked way better than past rounds. Winger Benezet was very lively and managed to score his 2nd goal for Evian. The other winger Wass is also in great form after scoring again last round. It was only from a free-kick, but even so his confidence skyrocketed seeing he managed to score in two consecutive games.
Guests will have to do without central defender Mongongu who suffered an injury last week.
Evian is actually the first club in France that defeated PSG this season (won 2-0 before the winter break) so it wouldn’t a first if they succeed in exploiting PSG’s delicate situation and get at least 1 point. Evian +1.5 at 2.29
