PSG – Caen Preview

PSG are getting positive results, they are winning games but nobody is impressed by their performances.

Maybe this is the burden of having a team full of world class talents or maybe PSG simply took the foot off the gas. It seems they aren’t interested in keeping a fast paced rythm for the entire game and as soon as they find the net PSG are happy with destroying opponents’ actions from incipient stages and simply moving the ball around somewhere in the middle of the field.

If PSG will go on in this manner most likely fans will continue to boo them even after victories.

The Champions League game against Chelsea is just around the corner and this kind of attitude can add iron in their boots.

Verratti, Maxwell, Ibrahimovic, Lucas and Sirigu should return to the lineup after being only substitutes in the midweek Cup game against Nantes (PSG won 2-0). Central defender Silva should also return after being rested.

Bad news for Caen as they will have to travel to Paris without forward Privat. Privat suffered an injury after scoring again last round and the offensive strength will be diminished since young and hesitant Sala will be the one replacing him.

But the good news is that Caen are in excellent form and confidence is at maximum levels.

They won again last week (2-0 against Toulouse) after a solid and convincing performance. Central midfielder Feret scored in the last 4 games and this is surely one of the best periods in his entire career.

Guests will miss forward Privat (injured) and winger Nangis (suspended).

Both sides are in good form but only one is achieving full potential and shows determination. Caen +1.5 at 2.08

UPDATE: PSG will miss Patore and Motta but welcome back fullback Aurier after African Cup of Nations
