PSG Caen Preview

psg caen preview

PSG

This is a tough moment for PSG after being eliminated from Champions League by Manchester City. PSG don’t really have any rivals in France, but things are different in Europe and PSG proved they still lack maturity.

PSG started in a new formula in the midweek game against Manchester City. They used 5 midfielders on the same line, and although they seemed to control the game in midfield, forwards were isolated upfront and couldn’t find the net (lost 1-0).

Things should return to normal now, and PSG should actually push a bit harder than in previous Ligue1 games, trying to avenge the Champions League elimination and pick up form for the French Cup semi final next week.

Thiago Motta suffered and injury and is doubtful.

CAEN

Caen were very pushy last week against Lorient, but forwards were once again slow and opponents punished every single mistake Caen made (Lorient won 2-1).

Caen seem worn out at the moment, exhausted, and although they may look determined, most of their efforts can be easily stopped by opponents.

The chances for Caen to qualify for Europa League are minimum and surely players are aware of that. Caen may very well be the first Ligue1 side that goes in vacation mode.

Guests may miss fullback Imorou who suffered an injury last week. Forward Delort also suffered a light injury but should be in the lineup.

One sided game should be expected with PSG in charge and pushing hard to demonstrate they are still world class talents, regardless the elimination from Champions League. PSG -1.25 at 1.92
