PSG didn’t have too many problems last round away at “title candidates” Monaco (PSG won 3-0). Even if there was no goal at half time, the game was mostly one sided and PSG created all the major opportunities.
It is only the beginning of the season and we shouldn’t be talking about tiredness when midweek games appear. Even so, PSG have a couple of players who weren’t involved in the midweek international games. Trapp, Thiago Silva, Maxwell, Stambouli, Thiago Motta, Angel Di Maria, Cavani and Pastore (may return from injury). With those players in the lineup PSG can be both fresh and powerful.
Ibrahimovic is doubtful in this moment and most probably won’t be risked.
Until now PSG is by far the most organized side in the league. It is extremely difficult to find any open spaces and that is why PSG are yet to concede this season. Most likely when they will concede they will end up outscoring the opponent…
Last round Bordeaux got their first victory this season after playing against 10 for almost an entire half (won 2-0 against Nantes). Of course Bordeaux dominated but there is no guarantee that playing in normal conditions would have had the same outcome.
The bad news for Bordeaux is that key player Chantome is suspended, same as important central defender Yambere. The defensive strength will be drastically reduced as at times Chantome is the only one helping defenders in dealing with opponents. Key midfielder Khazri missed the the game Tunisia vs Liberia due to an injury and most probably will sit out against PSG as well. Bordeaux will also have to do without defender Sane, midfielders Sertic and Plasil, and forwards Diabate, Crivelli and Rolan.
Although they haven’t proved it so far, Bordeaux have a pretty decent side and could easily finish the season on a Europa League position. But until all important players will be available and the team will pick up form Bordeaux will be just an average Ligue1 side. PSG -1.75 at 2.07
UPDATE: PSG will have to do without Pastore and Ibrahimovic but newly transferred Kurzawa is in the squad for the first time. Bordeaux’s forward Rolan recovered in time and is available but Diabaté, Laborde, Plasil, Sané, Sertic and Touré are injured.
