PSG

PSG won both Ligue1 games so far in 2016, but the performance in the field was far from convincing. Last week away at Toulouse, PSG lacked creativity and struggled to open up a mediocre defense.

They are not yet running at full potential, and since Champions League is not that close, PSG may also lack the incentive to push the pedal to the metal.

They also had a hard time in the Cup when they barely won after being 1-0 down at half time (won 2-1 against Toulouse). Although Ibrahimovic, Lucac, Matuidi and Maxwell started only on the bench, players like Cavani, Di Maria and Lavezzi were in the lineup and it’s difficult to say they used the second team…

Hosts will miss midfielder Pastore and defender Marquinhos who are injured, but may welcome back midfielder Verratti and defender Silva (no certainty at the moment).

ANGERS

Last round Angers inexplicably lost all points after leading for most of the game. They conceded twice in only a couple of minutes (both goals from penalties) and the final result surely affected their morale (lost 2-1).

Angers weren’t any better in the Cup game against Bordeaux that followed (lost 2-1). Young winger Benrahma arrived recently from Nice and played for about one hour. Hasn’t achieved much, but he is a skilled player and will surely prove to be an asset once he will adapt.

The good news is that a game against PSG is a totally different story and all Ligue1 teams always find extra motivation, no matter the poor form and morale.

Forwards Ketkeophomphone, Sunu and Capelle are fast and strong players and if a tunnel ever appears you can be sure one of them will be there to exploit it.

BETTING

So far PSG looked very bored and not interested that much with playing football. Angers can be very compact in defense and PSG may simply stop trying to open them up (judging by how the performed so far). Angers 1.75 at 2.11

UPDATE: PSG will miss keeper Sirigu, defenders Marquinhos and Silva, and midfielders Verratti and Pastore

PSG: Douchez, Trapp – Aurier, David Luiz, Kimpembe, Kurzawa, Maxwell, Van der Wiel – Thiago Motta, Stambouli, Rabiot, Matuidi, Lucas, Di Maria – Cavani, Ongenda, Ibrahimovic, Lavezzi
