Nice are a major letdown in 2014. They had some problems with injuries, mainly in the offensive department, now all important players are back, but Nice still can’t find a rythm.
Last round they played in the same formula in which they got the best results in 2013, with Cvitanich upfront and Eysseric, Bautheac and Traore behind. But Nice couldn’t even approach opponents’ penalty box, as the creation attempts were too shy. All players participating in the offensive phase (to be honest Nice didn’t really had an offensive phase…) were disappointing, but especially striker Cvitanich is the one attracting most if the criticism. Nobody expected Cvitanich to go from one extreme to another. In this moment he is in the poorest form since arriving in France.
Midfielder Traore, who only returned last round after a 3 months injury, suffered another knock and will most likely miss this game.
In defense they will welcome back fullback Kolodziejczak who was suspended last round. But that won’t change much, especially with central defender Pejcinovic still injured and keeper Ospina suspended. Most likely young Hassen (18 years old) will replace Ospina…
Toulouse actually made a good game last round against PSG (lost 4-2). In comparison to about a month ago Toulouse seems like a different team. The attacking phase was Toulouse’s major weakness but now they seem to have addressed that situation.
Play-maker Chantome slowly picked up rythm after being injured in the first rounds of 2014, striker Ben Yedder is in good form and started scoring goals, while winger Aurier is very active and creates numerical superiority.
Toulouse will miss defensive midfielder Aguilar through suspension. They haven’t played many games without him in the lineup, but hopefully experienced Siriex will successfully cover for him.
Those compiling the odds surely never watched Nice play recently. Toulouse use only 3 defenders, but judging by the poor form of Nice’s attacking players, they could use only 2 and still keep a clean sheet…
Toulouse +0.25 at 1.74 is valuable and should be safe too.
