Nice were a bit fortunate to get 1 point away at Bordeaux last round (finished 1-1). Bordeaux controlled most of the game but had a couple of moments of uncertainty which Nice successfully exploited.
Nice were hesitant in defense, especially central defender Genevois who became a regular after Pejcinovic got injured. Fullbacks Puel and Kolodziejczak didn’t had a good game either, they seem to lack form and this can be vital against a team like PSG who can make a killing on the flanks.
Central midfielders seemed a bit slow. Young Mendy was the one who disappointing the most as he was always one step behind opponents. He even gave away a penalty from which Bordeaux scored. Veteran Digard returned last round from injury and should start in central midfield, alongside Traore, leaving Mendy on the bench.
Top scorer Cvitanich was only a bench warmer last week due to his poor form. In his absence young Bosetti is making a name for himself and managed to score again last round. He is one of the most interesting prospects in Ligue1 at this moment.
Defender Genevois and winger Bautheac suffered light knocks last round but they should be able to play on Friday.
PSG are comfortably topping the table and in these conditions they are already thinking at the next week Champions League clash with Chelsea. There is a high possibility we will see a couple of changes in PSG’s lineup, and those entering the field may not give their all.
Fullback Maxwell for example seemed undecided last round and surely will be given a break, with Digne being the one replacing him. Wingers Cavani and Lavezzi may also be given some time off, especially with the likes of Lucas and Pastore ready to substitute them.
Central defender Silva suffered a minor injury last round and he won’t be risked, so Marquinhos will take his place in the lineup.
Every team is extra motivated against PSG, even a team like Nice that doesn’t really fight for anything with just 8 rounds to go. Adding to that the changes in PSG’s lineup and the possible indifferent attitude this game can go either way. The low odds don’t reflect the conditions surrounding this encounter.
