Nice Nantes Preview

nice nantes preview

Last round Nice were hesitant in the defensive phase, but the good news is they were extremely confident upfront and managed to outscore the opponent (won 4-2 at Metz).

Striker Balotelli missed through injury, but young Plea took over his tasks and did a wonderful job. Plea scored a hat-trick and reached a total of 6 goals this season.

At the moment Nice have the most effective and pleasant playing style in France. Their game has a fast paced rhythm, with actions are evenly distributed on all areas of the filed, and it takes world class talent to keep a clean sheet against Nice.

Hosts will have to do without winger Dalbert who is both injured and suspended. On the other hand they welcome back forward Balotelli.

After two consecutive victories, Nantes made a wrong step last round and proved they can’t be consistent in performances (lost 2-1 against Rennes).

Nantes are very aggressive in the first 20 minutes, but can’t keep the same rhythm, and most the times end up under complete domination. They scored first in the last 4 rounds, but lost 2 of those games. That’s not a very encouraging statistic, and it shows how fragile and inconsistent they are.

With a few exceptions, Nantes used the best possible team in the midweek game against Angers (won 2-1). Midfielders Gillet and Bammou started on the bench, same as defender Dubois and keeper Riou. In the end it was an easy game for Nantes, but mostly because Angers decided to rest their key players.

There are a few teams that can stand ground against Nice at the moment, but Nantes isn’t one of them. Even if somehow they will manage to find the net, Nantes don’t seem able to preserve the lead. NICE -0.5 at 1.98. Seeing that Nantes are very determined in the first minutes, and Nice were a bit hesitant in defense last round, Nantes HT – Nice FT at around 25.00 can be a very valuable bet, or Nice to win from behind at around 9.00 as an alternative.
