Nice – Monaco Preview

Nice haven’t scored in the last 3 games but this goal drought is by no means representative of their attacking strength.

Three rounds ago against Metz it was snowing heavily and they finished the game in 10 (drew 0-0), two weeks ago against Nantes they missed chances on a conveyor belt (finished 0-0) and last round the opponent was highly organized and concentrated all forces in defense after they got a red card (0-0 against Lille).

Nice are highly active especially in the offensive phase. Players are unpredictable and can easily move the play from one flank to another. Central midfielder Hult was given more attacking tasks and now he feels more comfortable than ever.

Confidence is running high since Nice haven’t lost so far in Ligue1 since the season resumed.

Hosts will welcome back fullback Puel after suspension but will have to do without Bautheac (suspended). This won’t be a major issue since Bautheac started only on the bench last round.

Monaco’s game last week against Montpellier got postponed due to heavy rain. The cancelled game was actually good news for Monaco as they weren’t exactly delivering convincing performances.

Monaco may welcome back midfielder Moutinho.

This is a regional derby (Cote d’Azur) and players are always very determined and make twice the efforts. Not sure about Berbatov, Carrasco or Silva but pretty confident that Plea, Bosetti or Eysseric will give their all. Nice have an upper hand here both because playing at home (fans will constantly cheer and push them forward) and because of good confidence and form. Nice DNB at 2.28

UPDATE: Nice are once again without Puel, Digard and Bodmer. Guests will welcome back midfielder Moutinho after injury.
