It’s been a poor start of the year for Nice. They are yet to win in 2017, and have been eliminated from Coupe de France and lost the Ligue 1 leadership.
They had to cope with the injuries of Balotelli and Belhanda (key players), while Seri (another important player) is away at African Cup of Nations. Forward Balotelli recovered from injury, but there weren’t so many balls for him last round. Things should change now as Seri is back from African Cup of Nations. Seri is actually the best passer in Ligue 1 (8 assists ao far), so there will definitely be an improvement.
Hosts will welcome back keeper Cardinale, defender Baysse and winger Eysseric.
Rarely a game goes by without Guingamp finding the net. They have 3 players constantly involved in the attacking phase, and the chemistry between them is really impressive. Experienced forward Briand is the perfect link between fast wingers Coco and Salibur.
Guingamp can score against any side in Ligue1, and they proved it in the first part of the season. They found the net against Lyon, Marseille, Monaco or PSG, not only once, but at least twice against all the mentioned teams.
The problem is that nowadays they are too soft in defense and can’t resist to constant pressure. That is why their games are usually high scoring encounters.
Guingamp transferred experienced midfielder Bodmer (from Nice), and most probably he will be in the lineup this round.
Even if Nice struggle a bit in the attacking phase, opponent’s style will encourage them to advance and apply pressure. This should be an action packed game and the odds on goals are too good to miss. OVER 2.5 GOALS at 2.13
