Both teams won the midweek Cup games after dominating their opponents. Especially in Nice’s case it was a well deserved confidence boost after a series of 7 consecutive losses (prior to winning last round against the same opponent, Sochaux).
Nice even afforded the luxury of resting play-maker Bruls and top-scorer Cvitanich.
Lately Cvitanich hasn’t been himself, but maybe sitting on the bench and seeing his less offensive teammates scoring (2 defenders and 1 winger scored in the Cup game) will inspire him.
Sadly for Nice central defender Pejcinovic (key player) got injured against Sochaux and is highly doubtful.
Nice could be more aggressive than usual in this game, in the attempt to build on last 2 wins and enter the winter break in high confidence.
In spite being very close to the relegation zone Evian is maybe the most relaxed team in Ligue1. Besides reaching the next stage in French Cup so far they are the only ones managing to defeat PSG.
Their play on the wings is exemplary, in fact winger Wass even scored both goals against Bastia.
Top-scorer Berigaud is slowly picking up form after a long injury, once again he played about 1 half.
One way or another Evian always score, especially now with wingers in great form and striker Berigaud back on the field. But defensively there are more open spaces than ever, with defenders being relaxed to the point of not caring anymore.
A determined Nice with central defender Pejcinovic out against a talented and inventive Evian should be an entertaining encounter with many opportunities on both ends and a couple of goals.
The odds on over 2.5 are simply out of this world. We even get over 2 goals (with money back if just 2 goals are scored) at 1.76. Medium stakes.
