Nice prove to be one of those teams that only get results on home ground. Away from home they are happy to withdraw in defense and wait for the perfect opportunity to strike.
But this attitude of theirs also begins to be seen in home games. You don’t have to be a Ligue1 specialized analyst to realize that, as only a look on their last results is enough: 1-0 the favorite scoreline (either win or loss).
Striker Cvitanich missed a sitter last round, an opportunity that could have brought Nice 1 point (lost 1-0 at Bastia) so he may have some confidence issues ahead of this game.
Lately attacking midfielder Traore has been very active and played a major role in Nice’s offensive phase. Unfortunately for them he will be missing this week through suspension.
Winger Bautheac should return after a long injury but obviously he needs some time to pick up form.
Accustomed with waiting in defense, having striker Cvitanich in a standstill and without suspended Traore, Nice can only score through a set piece.
Bordeaux are having a good run lately but their last display was a bit disappointing (at least for me). Last round they’ve struggled to open up 10 men Montpellier. I’ve seen enough failed crosses from Bordeaux to last me for a lifetime…
Only in the final third, when Montpellier were exhausted, Bordeaux could finally score. They controlled most of the game, took initiative but never really created any dangerous chances. Possession can be useless if it doesn’t lead to pressure…
At the back Bordeaux look great, only upfront they appear to be too soft.
So these teams have solid defenses and low levels of attacking power. What else can we bet except under 2.5? Even go further and pick under 2 goals at the odds of 2.00
