It was a somewhat balanced game between Lille and Nice, a game in which Nice let opponents held possession and focused mostly on speculating on counters. In the end both sides were happy with splitting points (finished 1-1).
Defenders were Nice’s most active players, and even if regulars Le Marchand and Bodmer were injured (may miss once again) Nice were still confident and precise in interventions.
Only in the offensive phase players still seemed in the vacation mode, and especially key striker Ben Arfa had a disappointing performance.
Hosts will welcome back midfielder Koziello after he was suspended last round.
Angers were really solid last week against Caen and they fully deserved to take all points (won 2-0). It was only the first game without keeper Butelle and forward Camara (they transferred-out), but so far it seems that Angers won’t miss them too much.
Second keeper Letellier started the game, made a couple of good saves, and it’s not clear yet if newly arrived Petric will take his place in the lineup.
Angers are very compact and opponents usually don’t have many spaces available to exploit. It will certainly be difficult for Nice to open up Angers, especially with the poor form of key striker Ben Arfa.
On the other hand Angers have their own problems in the offensive phase (lack creativity) and are forced to rely on set pieces and long balls.
Angers may be newcomers in Ligue1, but they are in top form at the moment and don’t deserve to be such underdogs, especially when opponents’ best player is clearly out of form. Angers +0.25 at 2.07
