It was really a shame to see the game between Nantes and Nice interrupted last round because of the weather conditions. It was a beautiful game, one of the most interesting encounters in Ligue1 so far and the score was already 2-2 when the referee decided to put an end to it.
It was actually the first game in which Nantes managed to score twice this season. Their offensive phase is looking better with each round and since Thomasson and Iloki adapted on the wings they are making the most of their attacking skills (both of them scored against Nice).
In the attacking phase Nantes is one of the youngest teams in the tournament and they are simply bursting with enthusiasm in each game. Now that the chemistry also improved a bit and Nantes will start to be a fierce opponent for any Ligue1 side.
It is really painful to watch Troyes play nowadays. They are resourceless upfront and no matter how many efforts they make in midfield it’s all in vain since they aren’t able to apply the finishing touch.
Defensively Troyes can easily be caught on the wrong foot and it’s been five rounds already since they kept a clean sheet.
They have no individual talents to stand out and also collective effort isn’t really their thing… so it’s no wonder they have only 4 points so far…
Troyes will have to do without central midfielder Ayasse (suspended) and maybe without defender Saunier who is doubtful
Nantes should be the ones in control and constantly pushing the game forward. Troyes always collapse under pressure and this time shouldn’t be any different. Nantes -0.5 at 1.96
UPDATE: Nantes’ defender Vizcarrondo was left outside the squad (rest). Troyes will have to do without midfielders Ayasse, Perea and Darbion and defender Saunier.
Nantes: Vercoutre, Reulet – Appiah, Alhadhur, Yahia, Da Silva, Ben Youssef, Raineau – Seube, Adéoti, Leborgne, Féret (cap), Bessat – Louis, Delort, Bazile, Rodelin, Ntibazonkiza
Troyes: Bernardoni, Petric – Martins Pereira, Mavinga, Ngcongca, Othon, Veskovac – Azamoum, Ben Saada, Camus, Court, Karaboué, Nivet, Pi, Thiago – Cabot, Jean, Bienvenu.
