Nantes Toulouse Preview

nantes toulouse preview

NANTES

It must have been frustrating for Nantes to be equalized in the final 10 minutes after they took the lead early in the second half (finished 1-1 vs Gazelec Ajaccio).

Nantes is a really promising team, one of the youngest in the tournament, full of vitality and enthusiasm. Still, it’s not all milk and honey as Nantes seem to have a big problem in the attacking department. Nantes have the second worst Ligue1 record when it comes to scoring attempts. Only 53 shots in 17 rounds is not something to be proud of, especially when only about 30% of those are on target.

Hosts may miss forward Bammou who is doubtful.

TOULOUSE

Toulouse made a great first half last round against Lorient, but collapsed inexplicably after the break. They conceded twice in a only a minute, right after the second half started. It was no secret that Toulouse have one of the poorest defense in the league, but it came as a surprise to see them so static and careless.

Two rounds ago 16 years old keeper Lafont set a new record for Toulouse (most saves in a game) after opponents used him for target practice, but last round it seemed that every single shot on target would end up in the net.

There are games in which the attacking players seem to be in-form and very confident, but unfortunately most the times defenders betray and Toulouse end up losing points.

Toulouse will miss midfielder in-form Machach (suspended).

BETTING

Nantes certainly doesn’t have the most productive attacking players in Ligue1, but there’s no need for that against Toulouse. Guests won’t afford a change of tactics, as being second from the bottom will force them to adventure upfront and open up. Nantes -0.25 at 2.00

UPDATE: Hosts will be without defenders Gomis and Cana (both suspended) and forwards Sightorsson and Bammou (injured). Toulouse will miss fullback Tisserand, midfielders Machach and forward Braithwaite.
