Nancy PSG Preview

nancy psg preview

Nancy don’t exactly have too many attacking resources, so lately they focused mostly on the defensive aspect. They have failed to score in the last 3 games, and barely had a decent shot on target.

On home ground Nancy are a bit more aggressive, because that is where the majority of points should come from. Unfortunately, besides only one draw, they lost all home games so far, as they can easily be surprised on counters due to the lack of experience at this level.

Important forward Hadji will miss once again due to injury. Central defender Lenglet will also sit out (suspended), while fullback Cetout is doubtful.

PSG bounced back after the defeat away at Toulouse two rounds ago (won 2-1 against Bordeaux last round). Forward Cavani is in excellent form (scored 8 goals so far) and can find the net from any position, no matter how difficult it may seem.

PSG rely a lot on fullbacks for pushing the game forward and delivering key passes. The left flank is extremely valuable, no matter if Maxwell or Kurzawa start in the lineup. On the right side they aren’t so powerful, as Aurier and Meunier are nowhere near the level of teammates. Unfortunately PSG will have to change strategy this round, as fullbacks Maxwell, Kurzawa and Aurier will miss through injury. Most probably they will start with Kimpembe on the left side and Meunier on the right, and this formula is far from impressive…

Guests will also miss midfielder Thiago Motta and forwards Pastore and Di Maria.

Both sides have to deal with important absences, but in the end PSG may be the ones more affected, since they will have to change strategy, and may have difficulties in covering the handicap. This can prove to be a very tricky encounter and it’s best to stay away.
