Nancy Guingamp Preview

NANCY

Nancy made a somewhat decent game last round away at Rennes, but their limited resources and lack of experience were major setbacks (lost 2-0).

Midfielder Pedretti was once again Nancy’s best player, but the attacking players were slow and uninspired, and once again failed to continue Pedretti’s actions. Things should improve for Nancy when forward Hadji will return from injury, but unfortunately it seems he will miss again this week.

Cetout took Diagne’s place in central defense (he was injured), but nothing changed, and it was proof that Nancy don’t have any solutions for increasing the defensive strength. Their defensive play is plagued by personal errors and if nothing changes Nancy are simply doomed.

GUINGAMP

Guingamp is a really pleasant surprise until now. They lost 3 key players from last season, but are still confident and perform at decent standards.

They won 2-1 against Marseille last round after a pragmatic performance. Defenders had a few hesitations, but everything was solved with the help of central midfielders.

Forwards Briand and Privat couldn’t achieve much this round, but wingers Coco and Salibur took charge and made all the difference.

The overall strength should increase this week after a couple of players resumed collective training and should make the squad: midfielder Didot, defenders Leveque, Lemaitre and Pereira.

BETTING

Nancy may be more aggressive trying to win their first points this season and could be the perfect victims for a confident side. Experience can easily tilt the balance in Guingamp’s favor. This is one of those rare games when we get excellent value because bookies failed to do their homework. GUINGAMP +0.25 at 2.03

UPDATE: Bad news for Guingamp as they will miss key forward Briand. Same bet.
