Montpellier had an easy game last week away at Lens as they played against 10 for more than half an hour (won 1-0).
Due to numerous absences coach Courbis was forced to start with young Skhiri in central defense. Skhiri had a couple of successful interventions and made a decent game. He seems to be a promising young player that will definitely help Montpellier in future seasons.
Things should return back to normal in defense seeing that defenders Dabo, Congre and Hilton will return from suspension.
Upfront coach Courbis decided to give a chance to forward Wuthrich who was transferred-in this winter but spent most of his time with the 2nd team. It wasn’t a successful experiment as Wuthrich’s performance was a bit disappointing.
PSG showed last round why they should be considered world class talents. They destroyed Guingamp 6-0 after successfully converting all their major opportunities. Although Cavani scored a hat-trick, Ibrahimovic was the man of the match as he was all over the place, scored twice and delivered 2 assists.
Central midfielder Verratti also had an excellent performance with many key passes and two assists. Unfortunately for PSG Verratti will be suspended this round.
Hosts may not have anything to play for but a game against PSG always motivates players. It is difficult to anticipate how this game will develop and if PSG will play at full capacity. Maybe a live bet will be more suitable if guests will perform at full potential and once the odds increase.
UPDATE: Hosts welcome back first keeper Jourdren but most probably substitute Ligali will start in the lineup. PSG will be without star striker Ibrahimovic
