Montpellier were surprisingly pushy last week against Bastia. Midfielder Boudebouz was of course the most important player, and all offensive actions involved him one way or another.
In defense they seemed slow to react, but opponents weren’t exactly bursting with creativity, so Montpellier managed to take all points (won 2-1).
Young forward Mounie scored twice reaching a total of 8 goals this season. He put up a confident performance, and all his attempts were very precise. But, once again, the opponent was accessible and eased Mounie’s job.
Hosts will welcome back defender Remy who was suspended last week, but will miss regular midfielder Sessegnon
Monaco is one of the most efficient teams in the world in the attacking phase (maybe even the most efficient). They have fast and creative players in midfield, and can easily create dangerous opportunities. Usually it’s only a formality for forwards to find the net.
The game against Nice last round was played mostly in midfield, but in the end it was an easy victory for Monaco (won 3-0).
The left side with fullback Mendy and winger Lemar was simply unstoppable. Opponents didn’t have a chance against them, and it’s no wonder Mendy delivered two assists and Lemar one.
Guests will miss defender Raggi, winger Dirar and forward Carillo. On the other hand new fullback Jorge is in the squad for the first time.
Montpellier picked up their first victory in 2017 last round, and surely confidence increased a bit. But Monaco is from another world and Montpellier will be forced back to reality. MONACO -0.75 at 2.03
