Montpellier was probably the happiest team with the international break. Their games were full of intensity and they kept on getting red cards each week.
In these conditions players were forced to make extra efforts and a lot of tiredness accumulated. So they embraced this small break and finally they will be fresh when entering the field.
Furthermore important defenders Tiene and Hilton should return after injury (Hilton is a small doubt). In these conditions the suspension of fullback Deplagne won’t have any impact.
Recently young Sanson started being a regular but only because Mounier was in and out of injuries. Now most probably Mounier will take his usual place on the left wing, while Cabella should continue in the center and Camara on the right side.
With these offensive players being fresh Montpellier could pose real problems to most Ligue1 teams. Upfront Montano was invisible last round, but like previously said, tiredness got the best of everyone. Montano is a gifted player, fast and very creative, as we could see about a month ago when he put 2 past Lyon.
Opponents Guingamp have alternating results. Especially away from home they are very hesitant and have too much respect for the opponent. They are a small team, without too much experience or alternatives on the bench, so adopting defensive tactics doesn’t really work for them. But still, this is what they do when being visitors.
Once in a while they have a shy attempt through top-scorer Yatabare, but unfortunately for them Yatabare is injured and will miss this match. Guingamp will have only one thing on their minds: defend.
This game will have only one direction, towards Guingamp’s net. The pressure exercised will be huge and I am confident Montpellier will score a couple of goals. They won’t give up only after 1 goal, they will keep on pushing because in recent rounds all their games were played until the final whistle. They just don’t know how to relax anymore…
Montpellier to win at 2.05 may just be the best bet in Ligue1 this round.
