Monaco – PSG Preview

Le cashico.

Monaco surprised the entire world in the midweek Champions League game when they won away at Arsenal 3-1.

Lately Monaco have been very disappointing whenever they were favorites and managed to impress when being underdogs. It seems that Monaco’s stars aren’t comfortable with the responsibility that comes along with the favorite status.

Hosts will have some defensive problems in this game seeing that defenders Raggi and Carvalho are still out injured and Abdennour is suspended. But this is not the first time when coach Jardim has headaches when trying to put together a decent defense. Monaco mobilize exemplary in case of missing key players and usually the performance in the field is not affected by any absence.

After the disappointing Champions League draw against Chelsea PSG bounced back last round and got an easy victory against Toulouse (won 3-1). Midfielder Rabiot scored twice after he won his place in the lineup thanks the suspension of Verratti. Now the Italian midfielder should return to the lineup, same as defender David Luiz.

Unfortunately for PSG they will have to do without the services of star striker Ibrahimovic who is suspended. This is a severe blow for the Parisians and will drastically reduce the offensive strength.

Guests may also miss midfielders Motta and Cabaye who are both doubtful at the moment.

Without Ibrahimovic PSG will have major difficulties in opening up Monaco (even without 3 defenders). After the important victory in Champions League Monaco’s confidence skyrocketed and this will surely help them create problems for PSG on counters. Monaco DNB at 2.35
