Monaco are in excellent form and continue to destroy most opponents. They scored 11 goals in the last two games (Ligue1 + Cup), without ever being in danger of conceding.
Players are enjoying every single minute on the field, and that is maybe the most important thing. They are having fun, results are extraordinary, and morale is at maximum levels.
Coach Jardim used mostly reserves in the midweek Cup game against Rennes (won 7-0). The only regulars in the field were keeper Subasic, defenders Glik and Sidibe, and midfielder Bakayoko. Moutinho also played, but he is mostly a bench warmer nowadays.
No injury problems for Monaco.
It’s been a difficult first part of the season for Lyon. They struggled with injuries and suspensions and registered a few negative results. Afterwards they had to double their efforts in order to compensate, and some players look exhausted now.
They also played in Champions League, and were pretty close to qualify from the group stages. Unfortunately Lyon weren’t very productive upfront, and will have to settle with Europa League next spring.
They used mostly reserves in the midweek Cup game against Guingamp, but players still looked uninspired, and Lyon lost at penalties (2-2 after 90 mins).
Fullback Jallet returns to the squad after a long injury.
While Lyon make extra efforts to push the game forward and convert their chances, for Monaco everything happens naturally, with ease. Guests will have huge headaches trying to defend against Monaco’s prolific attackers. MONACO -0.75 at 2.08
