Monaco put up a really impressive performance last round away at Marseille. They easily created scoring opportunities from only a few touches, and were also very efficient at converting their chances. As a matter of fact, Monaco is by far the most efficient side in Ligue1.
Wingers Silva and Lemar were involved in most of Monaco’s actions and even managed to score (Silva twice and Lemar once).
Central defender Glik once again had a few amazing interventions, and is the main reason Monaco aren’t conceding at least 3 goals per game.
Hosts will be without defender Toure who suffered an injury, but welcome back Mendy from suspension.
Lorient managed an impressive comeback last week against Guingamp. They were 1-0 down at the break, but thanks to increased determination and constant efforts they won 3-1.
They played 2 games so far this year, and managed to win both of them after being down at half time. Determination also played a big role, but the substitutions that took place in second were vital.
Last week for example, Lorient seemed a bit too defensive minded in midfield, with Mvuemba – Lautoa and Mesloub in the lineup. Once winger Philippoteaux replaced Lautoa, everything changed and Lorient found the equalizer after only a few minutes.
Guests continue to miss midfielder Toure and forwards Moukandjo, Aliadiere and Jeannot.
Most probably Lorient will once again have a shy approach in the first half, especially since Monaco are renowned for their attacking strength. But all hell should break loose after the break. More goals to be scored in 2nd half at 1.95
